Match four in a square.

A puzzle that asks for a 2×2 block of one piece — and rewires how you read a board.

The whole of it

All you need to know to start.

Four of one piece, in a square. Two ways to move them. Everything else the game has, it hands you as you go.

Four in a row — nothing. A line is not a shape here. Keep going.

Four in a square — clear. Two by two, one piece. That is the whole rule.

Tap to turn

A tap turns the piece under your finger. It only ever lands on the orientation two steps away — so a tap can never be the whole answer, and knowing that is half the puzzle.

Swipe to swap

Drag a piece into its neighbour and the two trade places. It is the only way to bring pieces a rotation could never reach into the same corner.

Playable, right now

Go on, then.

The real rule, the real artwork, running in this page. Tap a tile to turn it. Swipe to swap two neighbours. Build a 2×2 of one piece and it goes.

Keyboard: arrows to move, space to turn, shift+arrow to swap. Tab gets you onto the board.

A taste of it: one endless board, a handful of the themes, no sound. The game has levels to finish, a mode that races you, consumables for when a board shuts on you, and a soundtrack each theme plays itself.

Watch, and turn the sound on

Animation and sound made for every theme.

Paper is folded up and taken away. A piano is struck, and every piece is a note, so a clear is a chord. Filmed slow, because it is over in a tenth of a second.

Origami The sheet is not squashed, it is folded — in about its own creases, then taken off the board.
Piano Every piece is a note, and a clear is the chord they make together.

Two ways to play

One holds still. One does not.

Same rule, opposite temperament.

A Precision level in play: a fixed board of colored pieces, rank pips along the top, consumable counts below.

Puzzles to finish

Boards worth chewing on. Finishing them opens new themes and new moves to play with.

Arcade mode in play: a full board, score and a sixty-second timer across the top.

Race the clock

A fresh board and a running clock. The bigger you match, the longer you last.

Pick a world

Enjoy your game.

Every theme brings its own pieces, its own motion and its own sound to sink into while you play. Tap one to skin the demo with it.

Odds and ends

Little things you will notice.

Sounds right

Glass rings, timber knocks, grates clatter in their frames, and the piano plays you a chord.

Never quite still

Pieces lean and fidget while you think, and every theme has its own way of doing it. Leave a board alone and watch.

Color subterfuge

Color tells you what a piece is, right up until the board decides it would rather not.

All of it

Take it for a walk.

Both ways to play, every theme, a new look and a new verb as you go, and the sound each one makes.
